Employee Engagement Coordinator (Contract-to-Hire)
Our client is seeking an Employee Engagement Coordinator to support company events, employee initiatives, and internal engagement efforts. This role sits within the HR team and plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in ensuring events, communications, and employee-facing initiatives are executed smoothly and professionally.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed to confirm long-term fit before conversion to a permanent role.
About the RoleThis is not a glamorous, events-only position. While events are a visible component, the majority of the work involves planning, coordination, inventory management, and administrative execution. The ideal candidate enjoys organization, structure, and follow-through just as much as being out and about with employees.
Key Responsibilities- Support planning and execution of employee events including town halls, safety meetings, and employee appreciation initiatives
- Coordinate schedules, vendors, materials, catering, signage, and logistics
- Maintain event calendars, timelines, checklists, and trackers
- Track event expenses, assist with budget summaries, and process invoices
- Obtain vendor quotes and compare pricing
- Manage merchandise and inventory including hats, giveaways, signage, and printed materials
- Coordinate internal merchandise requests and maintain organized inventory systems
- Assist with employee-facing communications related to events and engagement initiatives
- Provide on-site support during events as needed
- 100% in-office at the Client’s Midland corporate office
- Friday: 4 hours
- Flexible start time between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM
- Full 9-hour days Monday–Thursday are required
- Primarily based at the Midland corporate office
- Occasional local travel to other Midland-area locations
- No out-of-town travel
- Pool vehicles provided
- Must pass the Client’s driving program
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Comfortable lifting and moving event materials and merchandise as needed
- Administrative or office coordination
- HR or People Operations support
- Operations or project coordination
- Hospitality or service-oriented roles
- Prior event exposure is helpful but not required
- Contract rate: $30 to $35 per hour
- Contract duration: approximately 4 to 6 months
- Intended conversion to full-time for the right candidate
- Expected full-time salary range upon conversion: $70,000 to $85,000, based on experience
