Position Title: Legal Secretary
Department: Legal Support
Reports To: Attorneys / Paralegal II (workflow direction as assigned)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Type: Full-Time
An established and respected Midland-based practice serving individuals and businesses across West Texas. We combine trial-ready advocacy with practical, business-minded counsel across complex civil disputes, oil & gas matters, probate and fiduciary litigation, small‑business disputes, and select criminal defense.
Position SummaryThe Legal Secretary provides administrative support to attorneys and legal support staff. This role is responsible for scheduling, document formatting, file maintenance, and routine administrative tasks that ensure matters move forward efficiently and professionally.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma required
- 0–3 years of administrative experience (legal environment preferred)
- Strong typing, formatting, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Non‑billable role
- Strong accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism
- Provide administrative support including scheduling, calendar management, and coordination
- Format and proofread routine legal documents under supervision
- Maintain electronic and physical file organization standards
- Assist with correspondence, document assembly, scanning, and filing preparation
- Support paralegals and attorneys with task coordination and deadline tracking
- Maintain professional communication with clients and internal staff
- N/A – Client service focus
- Works under direct supervision and receives structured task direction
- Supports team workflows and administrative execution
