POSITION: Childcare Provider II

EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt

NUMBER OF DAYS: 192

DEPARTMENT:
Early Childhood

REPORTS TO: Site Supervisor, Director of Early Childhood Programs

SUPERVISES: None

EDUCATION:
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood or related field; or CDA credential (preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
  • Early Childhood training and/or experience
PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Provider II shall work under the supervision of the Childcare Site Supervisor and shall assist the Site Supervisor in the preparation and management of classroom activities, administrative requirements, and operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Follow the directions of the Supervisor
  • Prepare and implement lesson plans
  • Assume responsibility for the care and safety of children
  • Follow childcare licensing and Texas Rising Star requirements
  • Prepare materials and displays as directed
  • Work in a cooperative manner with other providers and children
  • Assume responsibility for the care of equipment and teaching materials
  • Participate in in-service training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as needed
  • Provide orientation and assistance to substitutes
  • Change diapers
  • Assist with toileting children
  • Assist with measuring formulas and feeding children
  • Supervise children at rest and at play
  • Assist in filing and record keeping on a computer
  • Interact effectively with public, staff, children and parents
  • Serve as mentor for other child care staff
  • Serve in the role of site supervisor in the site supervisor's absence
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Qualification Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood or related field; or CDA credential
  • Hold current CPR and Basic First Aid certificates
  • Have visual and hearing acuity
  • Demonstrate acceptable written and verbal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be able to keep up with crawling and walking children
  • Familiar with various office machines
