What You Will Do
The Facilities Capital Construction Project Manager within Facilities & Services manages facility projects, both renovation and new construction, to support Pratt & Whitney's Capital Improvement Program, from initiation through planning, design, construction, and closeout.
Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate projects with specific time frames and funding to ensure goals are achieved safely, to current standards, and within specified parameters.
- Develop conceptual plans and budgets for facilities projects and coordinate with proponent groups and committees to facilitate rational planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Prepare RFPs and conduct necessary meetings to hire construction services; review plans and specifications for compliance with building codes and project requirements.
- Oversee the Project Engineering Firm, schedule meetings, track action items, and monitor progress across all planning and construction phases.
- Coordinate all parties in the planning, design, and construction process, assign tasks, and provide guidance for specific functions.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, conduct pre‑construction meetings, review bids, recommend award of purchase orders, and coordinate with the Procurement Department for professional services.
- Execute the submittal process for all design and construction documents, perform field reviews to ensure construction follows approved design documents, and review contractor invoices.
- Lead project walks, close‑out reviews, and prepare outstanding task lists prior to job completion.
- Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in an industrial construction environment, or Master's degree and 5+ years.
- Knowledge of facilities planning and construction management processes, building codes, standards, and construction materials and methods.
- Understanding of cost status, escalation factors, and market trends.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- OSHA 30 Certificate.
Salary range: 107,500
USD – 204,500
USD.
