Job Description
Title: Algebra II Teacher
The Algebra II Teacher at Midland Christian School is responsible for delivering rigorous, engaging mathematics instruction that equips students with strong algebraic reasoning, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities. This role integrates Christian values and a biblical worldview into instruction while fostering academic excellence, perseverance, and integrity in a Christ-centered learning environment.

Essential Functions
Instruction and Curriculum Development
- Plan, prepare, and deliver Algebra II curriculum aligned with school standards and academic expectations.
- Develop and implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Teach topics including linear and quadratic functions, polynomial and rational expressions, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations, and mathematical modeling.
- Incorporate technology and real-world applications to enhance student understanding.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Enforce school policies and rules regarding student behavior and conduct.
- Foster a supportive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
Integration of Faith and Learning
- Integrate Christian principles and biblical values into lessons and classroom activities.
- Encourage and model a Christ-centered lifestyle both in and out of the classroom.
- Participate in school-wide faith-based activities, including chapel services and prayer meetings.
Spiritual Development
- Lead daily prayer/devotional time, integrating biblical teachings into classroom discussions.
- Model Christ-like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students both inside and outside the classroom.
- Facilitate opportunities for students to explore and deepen their faith.
Parent Communication and Collaboration
- Establish open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with parents/guardians to support student learning and spiritual development.
- Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences and other school events.
Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Stay updated on current instructional strategies and best practices in education and faith-based pedagogy.
- Incorporate Bible stories, Christian values, and character education into daily lessons.
Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience and a supportive school community.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
- Attend work regularly and is punctual.
- Serve at extra-curricular events as needed.
