Bandera High School is searching for an experienced, dedicated, and knowledgeable Physical Education/Athletics, and Varsity Football Defensive Coordinator to join the Bulldog Nation.
Bandera ISD has a highly successful Football Program, building skilled athletes of integrity. The ideal applicant will have the necessary experience in the sport, the skills necessary to join a high functioning coaching staff, and the ability to connect with athletes, parents, and the community, to support and advance BISD athletic programs.

Bandera ISD is a 4-Day instructional week school district (Mon.
- Thurs.), with athletic obligations on some Fridays and Weekends.
- Teach high school level Physical Education/Athletics courses.
- Serve as Varsity Football (and sub-varsity) Defensive Coordinator.
- Possibility of Credit Recovery Support (if applicable).
- Actual assignment/grade level will be determined based on applicant experience and skill sets.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- Texas Teaching License and appropriate endorsements for the grade levels and subjects taught.
- Two or more years coaching Basketball/Football.
- Team planning with colleagues to ensure high quality instruction and assessment.
- Develop, modify and prepare curricula to ensure high quality instruction based upon student abilities and skill levels.
- Provide classroom instruction to whole groups, small groups, and individuals.
- Demonstrate the effective use of technology to enhance instruction and support student interest and growth.
- Design assessment tasks that allow students to demonstrate understanding in a variety of ways.
- Collect and analyze student data to drive instruction.
- Collaborate with students, parents, and other staff members, and provide meaningful feedback.
- Communicate necessary information and student progress regularly to students, colleagues, and parents.
- Work cohesively with the campus staff in a fast-paced atmosphere.
- Work cooperatively with Special Education teachers to modify curricula, and instruct and assess Special Education students in the regular classroom.
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
- Participate in staff development activities and improve job-related skills.
- Other duties as assigned as per the needs of the District (Academic & Athletics).
