Job DescriptionThird Future Schools is a high‑achieving and growing network of charter schools. The network’s school in MIDLAND, TX, SOUTH ELEMENTARY is seeking a DYAD Mixed Martial Arts Elective Consultant to lead engaging elective classes for students.
Third Future Schools will provide student elective access through DYAD Electives, a specialized experiential learning model for students. This model is designed to build critical thinking, communication, creativity, and other essential 21st‑century skills through hands‑on learning experiences. Students are grouped and participate in elective‑style courses that may include technology, fitness, arts, and other enrichment experiences.
Position SummaryThis role is part of the DYAD program.
DYAD means “two in one” and reflects the connection between classroom learning and community‑based expertise. It is designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the community by bringing in individuals with real‑world knowledge and first‑hand experience to provide students with meaningful, hands‑on learning opportunities.
DYAD consultants do more than teach a class. They provide an experience through their expertise. The Art Consultant helps students build creativity, confidence, self‑expression, problem‑solving skills, and habits of success through hands‑on artistic experiences and age‑appropriate art instruction.
Key Responsibilities- Provide engaging, structured, and experience‑based instruction in art
- Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach
- Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program
- Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment
- Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period
- Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations
- Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands‑on learning experiences
- Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership
- Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction
Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real‑world experiences - Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program
- Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through art showcases, presentations, displays, or other demonstrations of learning
- Skill, knowledge, and first‑hand experience in art or a related creative field
- Ability to work effectively with students in a school setting
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills
- Ability to provide structured, engaging, and experience‑based learning
- Commitment to professionalism, consistency, and student engagement
This is an hourly position paid at $30 per hour.
