Job Summary :

The First Grade Teacher at Midland Christian School plays a vital role in providing foundational education, nurturing spiritual growth, and fostering a loving and supportive classroom environment for young students. This position requires a deep commitment to the Christian faith, a passion for teaching young children, and the ability to integrate faith-based principles into daily instruction.

Essential Functions

Curriculum Development:

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the school's standards and faith-based principles.
• Plan engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Incorporate Bible stories, faith-based values, and character education into daily lessons.

Classroom Management:

• Establish and maintain a positive and supportive classroom conducive to learning and spiritual growth.
• Implement effective behavior management strategies rooted in faith-based principles.
• Foster a sense of community and belonging among students through collaborative activities and teamwork.

Instruction and Assessment:

• Deliver instruction using a variety of instructional strategies and resources.
• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic and spiritual growth.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.

Spiritual Development

• Lead daily prayer/devotional time, integrating biblical teachings into classroom discussions.
• Model Christ-like behavior and values through actions and interactions with students. Exemplary behavior and character consistent with Christian values, serving as a positive role model for students both inside and outside the classroom.
• Facilitate opportunities for students to explore and deepen their faith.

Parent Communication and

Collaboration:
