Department: District Wide/Assigned Campus
Reports To: Principal
Supervises: As assigned
Education- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university;
Valid Texas teaching certificate.
- Student teaching, approved internship or approved Alternative Teacher Certification Program
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Essential Functions- Instructional Management: Develop and implement curriculum plans, prepare lessons accommodating individual differences, present subject matter per Texas Education Agency guidelines, employ diverse instructional techniques and media, cooperate with staff, supervise teacher assistants, integrate technology, select instructional materials, assist students in improving study habits.
- Student Growth and Development: Assess student accomplishments, provide progress reports, assume responsibilities for extracurricular activities, serve as a positive role model.
- School/Organization Climate: Create supportive classroom environment, administer discipline, ensure student safety, supervise students as assigned, promote positive work environment and staff morale.
- School/Organization Improvement: Participate in building a vision for school improvement and planning implementation activities.
- Personnel Management: Assist in selecting/orienting new instructional staff.
- Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management: Protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
- School/Community Relations: Maintain open communication with students and parents, maintain professional relationships with colleagues, use clear communication skills.
- Professional Growth and Development: Participate in professional development program, demonstrate initiative, observe ethical standards.
- Policy Implementation: Comply with state, district, and school policies, maintain and file required records, attend faculty meetings and serve on committees.
- Other Duties:
Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Eligible for appropriate Probationary Certificate through a TEA‑approved Teacher Certification Program.
- Knowledge of assigned subjects.
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
The employee regularly sits, stands, moves, communicates verbally and electronically, uses hands, reaches, kneels, stoops, crawls, climbs or balances, lifts up to 25 pounds. Vision: close, distance, color, and focus.

The noise level is moderate. Employees must maintain emotional control under stress, may travel within district, and work after school or weekends.
