Job DescriptionPOSITION: Teacher Aide, Library Assistant
EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt
NUMBER OF DAYS: According to district calendar
DEPARTMENT: Teaching and Learning
REPORTS TO: Principal and Teacher/Librarian Assigned
SUPERVISES: None
Education- High School Diploma or GED and/or 30 semester hours of an accredited college or university
- Education Aide Certificate from state
- Some experience working with children
Assist the librarian and assist the teacher in the preparation and management of activities and administrative requirements.
Essential Functions- Possess, or be willing to apply for, a TEA Educational Aide Certificate (personal expense)
- Educational Aide certificate as established by the State Board for Educator Certification. The applicant for the educational aide certificate shall
- hold a high school diploma, the equivalent of a high school diploma, or higher;
- have satisfied one of the following requirements:
- has three creditable years of experience, as defined in Chapter 153, Subchapter CC, of this title (relating to Commissioner's Rules on Creditable Years of Service), as either an educational aide I or II; or
- has completed 30 semester credit hours of college credit with some emphasis on child growth and development or related subject areas;
- Ability to work well with children
- Knowledge of general office equipment
