- Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Deliver evidence‑based Structured Literacy instruction to students with identified reading and language‑based learning needs.
- Assess student performance using formal and informal measures and utilize data to guide instruction and interventions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals related to reading, writing, executive functioning, and academic achievement.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support student access to grade‑level curriculum and accommodations.
- Participate in PPT meetings, case management activities, and compliance‑related documentation.
- Utilize multisensory instructional strategies to address deficits in phonological awareness, decoding, encoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- Provide direct and consultative services in inclusion, resource, and specialized instructional settings.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and staff.
- Training and experience in Structured Literacy methodologies such as Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, Fundations, or similar evidence‑based reading interventions.
- Knowledge of dyslexia, language‑based learning disabilities, and adolescent literacy development.
- Experience interpreting educational evaluations and using assessment data to inform instruction.
- CT Certification in Special Education (165, 265, or 065)
- Excellent teaming, collaboration and communication skills.
- The ability to differentiate instruction.
- Prefer teaching experience in structured literacy
