Substitute Teacher - IDEA Permian Basin

Role Mission

Deliver instruction and manage a positive, safe learning environment when the classroom teacher is absent.

Compensation:

• $110 per day for non-degreed substitute teachers.
• $130 per day for Bachelor's degreed substitute teachers.
• Long‑term assignments pay up to $200 per day, starting from day 11 of consecutive assignment.

• Qualifications:
  
  Bachelor's degree preferred OR at least 1 year of experience working with children. Must pass a background check.
• Skills:
  
  Strong English communication skills, belief in college for all, and commitment to being a positive influence on students.

• Follow lesson plans and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Engage with students to provide instruction and facilitate learning.
• Monitor student behavior and performance.
• Ensure student safety and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Complete all required professional development.
• Adhere to school policies and maintain student confidentiality.

• Hours:
  
  7:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.
• Work a minimum of 1 assignment per week.
• Be punctual and complete all scheduled assignments.
• Demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and patience.
• Communicate effectively and timely.
• Move around the classroom for extended periods and actively monitor the environment.

• Ability to regularly move about the classroom to monitor and assist students.
• Ability to frequently position self to interact with students at various levels.
• Ability to communicate and convey instructions clearly.
• Ability to observe details at close range and at a distance.
• Ability to occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions.
