Job Purpose

To provide support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for directing assigned programs and services in the school; provide information and serve as a resource to others; supervise assigned staff; coordinate school activities; and address issues, situations and/or problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students.

Qualifications – Required
  • Master's Degree or higher in Educational Administration or Educational Leadership
  • NJ Principal Certification (Standard or CE)
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak English clearly and accurately
  • Ability to resolve conflicts / problem solve
  • Passionate professional fully vested in the success of all students and staff
  • Community‑based practitioner who understands and appreciates the need to involve multiple stakeholder groups in decision making
  • Educator willing to develop professionally and encourage those under leadership to do the same
  • Highly organized manager who effectively handles non‑educational tasks and minimizes their effect on the learning environment
  • Valid NJ driver’s license
  • Ability to pass the pre‑employment physical
  • Must pass the criminal history background check
  • Must submit the Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse Disclosure Form
Qualifications – Desired
  • Knowledge of / certification in the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching
  • Professional development background in equity and/or restorative discipline
  • Knowledge of school scheduling
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Handles student discipline
  • Attends court hearings when necessary
  • Attends BOE meetings as needed for student recognition, HIB cases, and discipline cases
  • Completes Faculty/Staff Observations and Evaluations
  • Conducts Post‑Observation conferences
  • Completes Teacher Walkthroughs
  • Serves as a member of the School Crisis Team
  • Coordinates Emergency Evacuation Schedules and arrangements for ambulatory students
  • Attends Administrator and Faculty PLCs
  • Attends evening events
  • Collects and reports SSDS school data
  • Prepares and submits office budget
  • Organizes student assemblies
  • Attends New Teacher Orientation
  • Serves as liaison for I&RS Team
  • Oversees office staff
  • Coordinates and updates Saturday Detention Program
  • Prepares Student Handbook and Faculty/Staff Handbook
  • Develops, updates, follows up on 504 Plans
  • Coordinates and distributes special bell schedules
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the High School Principal
Working Conditions

Office and school environments including classrooms, cafeteria, hallways, athletic fields, parking lots. After‑school/evening events.

Salary & Benefits
  • 10 Month/10‑Day Salary Range: $85,515 – $103,030 (commensurate with experience)
  • Salary includes 10 days of service required between July 1 and August 31
