3-5 years successful teaching experience working with ELLs
Position Function/
Purpose:
To be responsible for teaching the ESL/ELA Component of the Bilingual Transitional Late-Exit Program Model grades K-6th and provide explicit ESL instruction to ESL students. In addition, they will be responsible for developing English Language proficiency, academic language development, and high academic achievement.

Skills: - Knowledge of ESL methodologies, bilingual transferable skills from Native Language to English, Second language acquisition Knowledge of effective teaching techniques General knowledge of how to work well with a diverse population Knowledge of English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) Knowledge of how to identify the ELLs English Language proficiency levels in the domains of listening, speaking,reading, and writing in accordance with the proficiency level descriptors for beginning, intermediate, advanced and advanced high.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
