Education- High School Diploma or GED and/or 30 semester hours of accredited college or university
- Educational Aide Certificate from state of Texas
- Some experience working with special education children
To assist the classroom teacher in the care and instruction of the students in the classroom.
Essential FunctionsA teacher assistant in special education is subject to reassignment during the year because of student population shifts.
Qualification Requirements- has three creditable years of experience, as defined in Chapter 153, Subchapter CC, of this title (relating to Commissioner's Rules on Creditable Years of Service), as either an educational aide I or II;
- has completed 30 semester credit hours of college credit with some emphasis on child growth and development or related subject areas;
and have experience working with students and parents as approved by the employing superintendent. Good people skills. Ability to work well with children and all students.
