Function/
Purpose:
Bridge the gap between home and school by providing parents with the information and support they need to ensure their child's academic and social success. Connect the home and school in a positive, respectful, and welcoming manner through meaningful, thoughtful, and culturally appropriate communications and activities.
Major Responsibilities:
- Serve as liaison between school and home by encouraging participation in school activities such as parenting classes and informational sessions
- Facilitate and foster a positive relationship between home and school through planned activities and communication
- Make personal contacts with parents and families through various means such as one on one contact, emails, flyers, newsletters, and home visits
- Organize materials and activities needed for parental and family engagement activities
- Survey parents to determine needs at the beginning of the school year
- Assess the effectiveness of the program at least annually through surveys and participation documentation
- Develop and implement parental involvement programs and activities
- Communicate the campus title 1 program to parents annually
- Provide tips, strategies, and ideas to staff and parents to improve parent and family engagement
- Engage parents to become full partners with the school by utilizing best practices from multiple sources that encourage parents and families to participate in a partnership between the school and the home
- Develop correspondence such as calendars and newsletters to inform parents of school events such as parent/teacher conferences, as well as parent and family engagement events
- Provide educational programs that strengthen parenting skills and help parents to provide educational assistance to their children
- Assist campus leadership in developing and providing to parents and campus staff, the campus parent and family engagement policy
- Assist campus leadership in developing and providing to parents and staff, the parent and family compact

Qualification Requirements:
- Experience in public speaking and communication
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement activities and events
- Reflect the school's demographics
- Be tolerant of culturally diverse populations
- Ability to read and write English and Spanish (preferred)
