Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with experience in Federal Programs.
  • Knowledge of ESSA federal program requirements, regulations, and compliance reports preferred.
General Responsibilities

The Educational Consultant - Federal Programs shall be directly responsible to the Associate Director of Federal Programs & Leadership and shall assist districts in maintaining federal program compliance with ESSA guidelines and implementation mandates as well as the effective use of federal resources to impact and ensure greater student achievement.

  • Plan, develop, conduct, and/or facilitate staff development to meet grant requirements.
  • Collaboratively plan, develop and/or facilitate staff development for ESC (Education Service Center) and LEA’s (Local Education Agencies).
  • Actively participate as a member of the ESC/LEA team and within the appropriate Professional Learning Community (PLC).
  • Secure the aid of resource persons and consultants to supplement and enrich programs of local schools.
  • Assist with the development of procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of service center programs and recommend modifications as needed to attain ESC goals.
  • Keep abreast of current state and federal regulations related to job responsibilities.
  • Acquire, develop, and demonstrate new skills by participating in professional growth activities.
  • Maintain open communication and confidentiality in accordance with the Texas Professional Standards of Ethics.
  • Assist LEA’s with enriching and improving student performance, effectively using elements of the planning process which include assessment, goal setting, objective development, resources, identification, timeline establishment, and evaluation design.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor when communicating with clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Federal Programs & Leadership and/or other ESC administration.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Attend meetings as required by the State in the grant program areas served.
  • Attend any other meetings and training as required by the grant program.
  • Deliver timely training and updates on topics specified by the State to LEAs.
  • Provide training and technical assistance as required by the grant program.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to districts and charters in the grant program areas assigned.
  • Provide training and technical assistance on use of funds as required by the grant program.
  • Provide LEAs with information, staff development, and/or technical assistance in addressing state and federal mandates.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to districts.
  • Assist with the implementation of program requirements.
  • Support school districts in the use of funds through selected LEA Allowable Activities.
  • Utilize technology within the ESC and with our clients to enhance communication as well as job efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Incorporate the use of technology into staff development as applicable and as new technology becomes available.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Federal Programs & Leadership and/or other ESC administration.
