PT TXCHSE (GED) Instructor - Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Math Midland College | Midland, TexasJOB SUMMARY Instructors for the Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (GED) will work in a classroom setting instructing students in Midland College’s Adult Education Program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Instruct students who have achieved varying levels of mastery in the subject matter area (Language Arts, Social Science, Science, and Math)
Teach students online, face-to-face, or a combination of the two modalities on a schedule as assigned by the TXCHSE (GED) Coordinator Communicate effectively and appropriately with students
Integrate essential workplace competencies into the classroom setting
Report and interpret test results for individual students
Develop and promote a safe learning environment for all students
Provide tutoring and additional instructional support to students as necessary
Attend required staff meetings
Complete the required 15 clock hours of professional development as assigned through the state training portal by the program’s Professional Development Coordinator Participate in student registration and orientation functions as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications An earned Bachelor’s Degree in English, History, Mathematics, Education or similar discipline from a regionally accredited institution
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail
General familiarity with computers, Word, and Excel programs
Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external groups
Willingness to participate in collaborative projects with colleagues and instructional leaders
Preferred Qualifications Experience in teaching adult students or high school students
Experience with curriculum design, curriculum implementation, and assessment of student progress
Experience teaching in different modalities to include face-to-face, hybrid, and online/remote WORK ENVIRONMENT Typical office
