Position Function/
Purpose:
To assist the classroom teacher in the care and instruction of the students in the classroom.
Essential Functions:
Qualification Requirements:
- Possess, or be willing to apply for, a TEA Educational Aide Certificate (personal expense)
- Educational Aide certificate as established by the State Board for Educator Certification. The applicant for the educational aide certificate shall:
- Hold a high school diploma, the equivalent of a high school diploma, or higher
- Have satisfied one of the following requirements:
- Has three creditable years of experience, as defined in Chapter 153, Subchapter CC, of this title (relating to Commissioner's Rules on Creditable Years of Service), as either an educational aide I or II
- Has completed 30 semester credit hours of college credit with some emphasis on child growth and development or related subject areas
- Have experience working with students and parents as approved by the employing superintendent
- Special Knowledge/
Skills: - Good people skills
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to work well with all students

- In some cases: wheel chairs, lifts, crutches, blender, stove and medical equipment
