Children's Ministry Coordinator

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY COORDINATOR

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS:

The Children's Ministry Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the entire children's ministry, from birth through 6th grade, to ensure a smooth operating, safe and effective program. The coordinator will recruit and train workers/leaders who will touch children's lives with God's love, teach them God's Word and provide fellowship with God's people; laying a foundation that will keep children interested in the things of God and involved in the church.

• 1. Participate in training opportunities as offered.
• 2. Work as a team player within the confines of the staff.
• 3. Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the children's ministry.
• 4.Organize training and planning sessions for children's workers/leaders.
• 5. Screen workers/leaders.
• a. Obtain employment applications for workers and signed consent forms for
• criminal background checks for workers/leaders.
• b. Facilitate completion of a state approved child abuse safety training for all
• workers/leaders.
• c. Maintain records in confidential locked file for all workers/leaders.
• 6. Investigate complaints related to the children's ministry when warranted.
• 7. Approve all children's ministry programs, curriculum, activities and disbursement of funds for supplies and activities, keeping within the budgeted amount.
• 8. Be available to counsel and pray with children regarding spiritual matters.

PT position, salary based on experience, $20 - $30,000 per year
