The Experienced Travel Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Technician in the PEARCE Renewables Energy Storage Systems (ESS) division performs tasks involving operations and maintenance (O&M) and physical labor at commercial and industrial solar energy projects located throughout the United States. This is a 100% travel role across the United States. Preferred candidates should reside in California, Arizona, or Texas.
Core Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) equipment.
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an authorized person and under properly performed LOTO conditions.
- Conduct daily safety and task planning discussions including pre-task planning, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs).
- Interact with vendors and customers in a professional manner.
- Act as a team member to support site work which could include supervising field work onsite focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- 2+ years of electrical proficiency relating to electrical systems and components is required.
- 2+ years of renewable energy experience is preferred.
- A commitment to safety and attention to detail with the ability to recognize potential issues and provide safe solutions.
- Post‑secondary education is preferred.
- Electrical certifications are preferred such as OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and NFPA
70E. - Excellent written and verbal skills to meet Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) internal and external requirements is required.

- Candidates residing in California, Texas or Arizona are preferred.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license for at least a year.
- Work possible rotating shifts (100% travel is required for this position).
- Prolong standing and working in ergonomic challenging positions.
- Varied climates based upon locations.
Hourly rate: $25.00–$40.00 per hour (DOE) and per diem. Base Pay Range: $25 USD – $40 USD. In addition to wages, employees may also be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem, or other applicable compensation.
