Position Title: Critical Power Technician

Reporting to: Service Manager

We live that statement every single day and are looking for a Critical Power Technician to help support that mission.

We service all brands of emergency standby generators, automatic transfer switches, switch gear, and related accessories. The normal shift is 7:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.; overtime is common in field service and a candidate should be willing and able to work as needed. Once a technician proves capable of solo field work, they will join our rotating after‑hours on‑call calendar.

• Manage all aspects of critical power systems installation, start‑up, and commissioning.
• Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on all systems including PLCs, AC/DC, and switch gears.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on electric power generation equipment including gas and diesel engines, generators, and transfer switches.
• Coordinate with installing electrical contractors.
• Oversee correction of issues arising from commissioning.
• Become familiar with working off‑site and with mining companies.
• Test and troubleshoot various sized generators.

• Flexibility and willingness to be on‑call, and able to work overtime on occasion.
• Willingness and ability to travel overnight.
• 2 years experience with higher voltage generator maintenance (CAT, Kohler, Cummins).
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge of diesel‑powered generators.
• Diagnostic skills.
• 3+ years experience in generator maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a technical school preferred.
• AAS in Electrical Power Generator Technology is a big plus.
• Military experience is a plus.

Physical demands: walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs; pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+lbs., and working in various weather conditions and noise levels. Employees may be assigned other tasks as needed.
