We live that statement every single day. We are looking for a Critical Power Technician to help support that mission.
Job SummaryWe service all brands of emergency standby generators, automatic transfer switches, switch gear, and other related accessories. The normal working shift is 7 AM to 4 PM. With field service, overtime is common. Once a technician has proved capable of working in the field solo, they will be part of our rotating after‑hours on‑call calendar.
Ideally, we are looking for candidates with some prior experience with generator sets, diesel & gaseous engines, and industrial/commercial electrical distribution, but more importantly we want technicians who want to grow their skills.
Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of critical power systems installation, start‑up and commissioning.
- Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on all systems, including PLCs, AC/DC, and switch gears.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on electric power generation equipment, including gas and diesel engines, generators, and transfer switches.
- Coordinate with installing electrical contractors.
- Oversee the correction of issues arising from commissioning.
- Become familiar with working off‑site and with mining companies.
- Test and troubleshoot various sized generators.

- Flexibility and willingness to be on‑call, and able to work overtime on occasion.
- Willingness and ability to travel overnight.
- 2 years of experience with higher voltage generator maintenance (CAT, Kohler, Cummins equipment).
- Electrical and mechanical knowledge of diesel‑powered generators.
- Diagnostic skills.
- 3+ years of generator maintenance experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduation from a technical school preferred.
- AAS in Electrical Power Generator Tech is a big plus.
- Military experience is a plus.
Physical demands/work environment:
This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs., and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
