Role Overview:The Prime Power Plant Manager is the senior on-site leader responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a large natural gas–powered prime power microgrid serving a customer facility. This role has full accountability for site operations, maintenance execution, safety performance, workforce leadership, and customer interface.
This position is intentionally designed as a single-site, fixed-location leadership role with end-to-end ownership of site outcomes. The Plant Manager sets operational standards, establishes rhythm and discipline across shifts, and ensures the site consistently meets uptime, availability, production, emissions, and safety targets.
In addition to internal leadership responsibilities, the Plant Manager serves as the primary interface with the customer at the site, ensuring transparency, trust, and alignment on operational performance. The role also carries community engagement responsibilities, including building local recruiting pipelines, developing vendor relationships, and representing ERock as a long-term partner in the region.
This is a management and leadership role. While the Plant Manager is expected to maintain strong technical understanding and operational credibility, day-to-day hands‑on maintenance execution is not a primary responsibility. This role reports directly to the Prime Power Head.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Leadership & Site Performance
- Owning overall site performance, including uptime, availability, production, and emissions compliance.
- Establishing operational rhythm, maintenance pacing, and outage planning to support continuous, reliable operation.
- Ensuring maintenance activities are executed on time, to standard, and without overdue intervals.
- Leading Group Supervisors and on‑site support staff to deliver safe, consistent, and high-quality execution.
- Setting clear expectations, reinforcing standards, and holding leaders accountable for results.
- Supporting onboarding, qualification, and ongoing development of supervisors and technicians.
- Driving disciplined execution of preventive, corrective, and reliability-focused maintenance programs.
- Ensuring issues are analyzed, escalated, and addressed to reduce repeat failures and operational risk.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and operational documentation.
- Serving as the on‑site leader for safety culture and compliance with all safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
- Reinforcing quality standards for maintenance execution, documentation, and operational changes.
- Acting as the primary interface with the customer site to provide transparency, build trust, and align on operational performance.
- Engaging with the local community to support recruiting pipelines, vendor partnerships, and long‑term site success.
Requirements
Basic (Required)Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in power generation, industrial operations, utilities, energy, or other mission‑critical operating environments.
- At least 3–5 years of leadership experience managing supervisors, technicians, or skilled trades in a 24/7 operational setting.
