Position SummaryPRISMECS is seeking an experienced Site O&M Lead to oversee the daily operation and maintenance of a temporary diesel power generation facility in the Odessa/Midland, Texas area.
The Site O&M Lead will be responsible for supervising the on-site O&M team, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities, maintaining safe and reliable plant operations, and serving as the primary operational point of contact on site.
This position requires strong hands-on knowledge of diesel generator power plants, medium-voltage electrical systems, balance-of-plant equipment, maintenance planning, and O&M team leadership .
Key Responsibilities- Lead all daily operations and maintenance activities for the temporary power plant.
- Supervise and coordinate the on-site O&M team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.
- Monitor overall plant performance and coordinate response to equipment alarms, abnormal conditions, and operational issues.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for diesel generators and associated plant equipment.
- Support troubleshooting and emergency response activities when equipment or operational issues arise.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE requirements, permit-to-work procedures, LOTO requirements, and company/site procedures.
- Plan manpower requirements and coordinate shift coverage and work priorities.
- Coordinate planned outages and maintenance activities to minimize operational disruption.
- Monitor spare-parts requirements and support inventory planning for critical equipment.
- Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records.
- Prepare and provide daily and weekly operational reports.
- Coordinate effectively with project management, technical teams, contractors, and site stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for day-to-day site activities.
- Promote strong safety, housekeeping, communication, and operational discipline across the site team.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in diesel engine power plants, power generation, or closely related O&M environments .
- Previous experience leading or supervising an Operations & Maintenance team .
- Strong working knowledge of diesel generators and associated mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of medium-voltage electrical distribution systems .
- Experience with balance-of-plant equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Experience coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Understanding of LOTO, permit-to-work, and power-plant safety practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate emergency response activities.
- Strong leadership, planning, reporting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with field personnel, technical specialists, project management, and customer representatives.
- Must be able to work on-site in the Odessa/Midland, Texas area.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Local West Texas candidates are strongly preferred. This urgent U.S. project is not currently offering employment sponsorship.
Preferred ExperienceExperience with any of the following is highly desirable:
- Temporary or distributed power generation facilities
- Medium-voltage switch gear and transformers
- Generator synchronization and paralleling
- Power-plant commissioning or startup
- Maintenance outage planning
- CMMS or maintenance reporting systems
- Emergency or standby power facilities
This is not simply a maintenance supervisor position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of site O&M activities, lead the field team, communicate clearly with project stakeholders, maintain operational discipline, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced power-generation environment.
