Structural Engineer - Static Load Testing
Spacecraft and Satellite Structures
We are supporting a space technology company working on advanced satellite platforms and they are looking to add a Static Load Test Engineer to their structural engineering team.
This role sits at the intersection of analysis, test, and real flight hardware. You will be responsible for supporting and executing static load testing activities on spacecraft structures, working closely with structural analysts, design engineers, and test teams to validate hardware for launch and on-orbit environments.
What you will be working on
- Static load test planning, execution, and post-test analysis for spacecraft and satellite structures
- Correlation of test results with structural analysis and finite element models
- Supporting qualification and acceptance testing of flight and development hardware
- Collaboration with design, systems, and manufacturing teams to resolve structural issues
- Contributing to test procedures, reports, and certification documentation
What we are looking for
- Experience as a Structural Engineer or Test Engineer within aerospace or space environments
- Strong background in structural analysis and test correlation
- Hands-on experience using FEMAP and NASTRAN
- Understanding of spacecraft structural loads, margins, and qualification processes
- Experience supporting or executing static load tests on aerospace structures
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced development environment
Nice to have
- Previous experience working directly on satellites or spacecraft hardware
- Exposure to launch vehicle or space qualification standards
- Experience with test instrumentation, strain gauges, or load measurement systems
Why apply
- Work directly on real satellite hardware that will go to space
- High-impact role within a technically strong engineering team
- Opportunity to influence both analysis and test outcomes
- Exposure to full lifecycle spacecraft development
