What You’ll Do- Conduct safety briefings and promote Asplundh's 'Safety First, Always' philosophy.
- Perform protective relay testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and commissioning tasks.
- Validate protection schemes and confirm control circuits for equipment such as breakers, transformers, feeders, and capacitor banks.
- Analyze system events and assist with outage planning and energization protocols.
- Lead and supervise on-site electrical crews; coordinate activities with project managers and client teams.
- Maintain precise records, test outcomes, and field documents.
- Assist with project estimates, site assessments, and client communication.
- Mentor and train junior technicians.
This position requires travel to customer sites throughout the designated region, with regular travel expected. The ability to undertake assignments outside the region for prolonged periods is beneficial. A company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel within the specified region.
What You Bring- At least 5 years of experience in protective relaying within substations.
- Proficiency in microprocessor relay testing platforms.
- Deep understanding of high voltage safety standards and safe work practices.
- Valid driver's license; capability to perform outdoor work, travel, and lift up to 70 lbs.
- NETA Level III or IV Certification preferred for Senior positions, though candidates at other NETA levels are encouraged to apply for various roles in our organization.
- Experience with circuit breakers, transformers, switch gear, RTUs, and communication systems.
- Technical degree or military electrical training is desirable.
- OSHA 10/30 Certification.
- Valid driver's license with a clean record.
