* Job Description:

** Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Data / Planning Engineer who blends strong data engineering capabilities with corporate planning and analytical excellence. This hybrid role will support enterprise data systems, corporate planning workflows, budgeting cycles, performance analysis, and development planning. The ideal candidate combines technical skills, business acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that elevate decision making across Engineering, Budget & Planning, and Operations.
** General Responsibilities
*** Serve as a bridge between technical data systems and corporate planning processes, ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and analytical rigor.
* Integrate data from multiple internal systems to produce reliable, unified datasets for planning, engineering, and analytical use.
* Support corporate planning cycles including budgeting, forecasting, monthly performance reviews, and scenario analysis.
* Prepare deliverables for senior leadership including dashboards, variance analysis, operational metrics, and development outlooks.
* Build, optimize, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processes supporting enterprise data needs.
* Develop, manage, and enhance Databricks-based data solutions, ensuring system stability and data quality.
* Convert raw data into usable formats for data consumers.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data-related issues and implement improvements in data workflows.
* Automate recurring planning workflows (forecast pulls, dashboards, update cycles) to improve speed and consistency.
* Work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
** Minimum Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
* 3–7+ years of experience in data engineering, petroleum engineering, corporate planning, or similar analytical roles.
* Proficiency with SQL, Python, and modern data frameworks
* Experience with forecasting, budgeting, or development planning in an upstream oil & gas environment.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to create clear, compelling analysis for leadership review.
* Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally.
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Experience with Power BI, Spotfire or similar visualization and analysis tools.
* Experience with Databricks
* Familiarity with reservoir, production, or drilling datasets.
* Understanding of capital allocation workflows and development scheduling.
* Ability to design automated processes and scalable data solutions.
