The Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of wells, including constant monitoring of well performance. The role focuses on maximizing profitability by delivering wells while minimizing expenses. The engineer assesses production capabilities, designs and implements artificial lift systems, repairs, and workovers, and works collaboratively with infrastructure, production operations, and well construction teams.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create cost estimates and AFEs for new wells, artificial lift repairs, and workovers.
  • Accrue for capital and expense spend for your area of responsibility.
  • Monitor spend as compared to a target job cost.
  • Monitor artificial lift and production trends, design workover, and intervention programs to maximize oil recovery.
  • Coordinate with Production Operations to optimize artificial lift and facilities for maximum production.
  • Design, analyze and make recommendations to optimize artificial lift systems.
  • Analyze well failures and track trends and implement changes to reduce failure frequency.
  • Provide Production Engineering technical support to Field Operations, Infrastructure, Completions, etc. as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in an Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in oil shale plays and unconventional assets.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Production Engineer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to site.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to meet insurability standards for driving a company vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of Permian Basin experience.
  • One (1) year of experience with rod design, nodal analysis, or ESP design programs.
  • Two (2) years of horizontal and multiple stage completion experience.
  • Motivated self‑starter capable of performing with minimal supervision.
