This is a Midland Based‑Full‑time, Direct Hire role in the field of oil & gas related process equipment and related facilities. Duties of the role include the process and mechanical design of equipment and piping systems related to various onshore upstream and midstream facilities. Candidates must be knowledgeable of the related ASME and API codes as well as some familiarity with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Work both independently and alongside an engineering team to develop both high level and detailed design of process and mechanical piping systems.
- Lead project teams.
- Communicate effectively and interact directly with clients, suppliers, and upper management.
- Report job activity and maintain detailed logs of work activities for project managers and executive management.
- Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
- Meet deadlines working on multiple projects and clients with minimum supervision and taking some responsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
- Maintain a high standard of work performance, ensuring that all work is in accordance with the engineering standards of the company and client.
- Occasionally travel and be available to spend time at field locations to assist with scoping design requirements, as‑builts, construction support, etc. Most locations are within a 3‑hour drive from the Midland office. After hours or weekend work may be needed to support a project schedule during construction.
- Be flexible to occasionally travel or work on a short‑term basis at other PERC offices in Fort Worth, Houston, and Lafayette.
- Must be local to the Midland area.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in the project and detailed engineering of upstream and/or midstream related facilities.
- Read and create P&IDs and other engineering documents with minimal supervision.
- Understand the basics of sizing and selecting process equipment, including oil & gas separators, scrubbers, treaters, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Petroleum Engineering.
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for long periods of time.
- Must pass background check and be able to pass both a pre‑employment and random drug test(s).
- Must be able to travel occasionally up to 15%, including overnight travel to various locations and customer sites to provide service based on business needs.
- Duties performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to weather and elements.
