Electrical​/Instrumentation & Controls Designer - Energy & Industrial

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement.

You'llspend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.

• This position will offer you the opportunity toutilizeand expand your drafting skills, while working in a multi-disciplined team environment with other designers and/or engineers in the preparation of design drawings based on design input.

• You will have the opportunity to apply your computer-aided drafting skills, while receiving hands-on training in design software environments, such as AutoCAD and/or Micro Station.

• Work as part ofthe Energy & Industrial Groupas an Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls designer fora variety of projects which may include Power Generation Stations, Oil & Gas facilities, Carbon Capture/Emissions Controls, etc.

• You will be involved in creating physical and plan drawings to scale,showing relationofproposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions, as well as various non-physical drawings and diagrams.

• You mayaccompanyandassistexperienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities to gather information for your design project.

• While interfacing with vendors and construction contractors, you may be given the opportunity to explain yourdrawingssoappropriate design adjustments can be made.

• Utilize company and project drafting and design standards, adheres to plans and schedules

Essential skills and experience:

• Ahigh school diploma and equivalent technical design experience

• Six (6) or more years of Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls design experience, including 2D & 3D.

• Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e.AutoCAD or Micro Station) onpower plants orotherlarge-scaleindustrialfacilitiesprojects

• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.

• Ability to multi-task from project to project

Valued but notrequiredskills and experience:

• Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design

• Experience usingboth
  
  AutoCAD and Micro Station software.

• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design.

• Experience in the development of grounding layouts, underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings, cable tray and exposed conduit layouts,instrumentlocationplans,area classification plans,and electrical equipment location drawings.

• Design experience in the development of single-line, andrelay and metering diagrams, including medium-voltage and 480V systems.

• Familiarity with digital control systems.

• The ability to perform the following:

• Produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians.

• Assist engineers withinitialdesignrequirements.

• Conceptualize plans and details to accurately convey wiring termination requirements.

• The ability tointerfaceand communicate with engineering and design teams of other disciplines
  
  Energy & Industrial facilities design process.

• Strong knowledge and ability to create; interconnection wiring diagrams, conduit/cable schedules, loop diagrams, area classification plans,

• Experience with 3D Lighting Calculation programs, and experience in Heat trace design preferred.

• Ability to interpret P&IDs, Instrumentationwiringand provide I&C input into P&IDs.

• Abilityto travel as necessary for client meetings, job site visits,assistin data gathering, etc.
