AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Remediation group in Midland, TX. We are seeking a candidate who is an excellent communicator and technically capable, with an awareness of relevant regulations. The successful candidate will work under the oversight of an experienced team of engineers and scientists on environmental site assessments, remedial and solid waste design and construction, and environmental support on multi-disciplinary projects.
This position will involve field and office responsibilities with potential for growth. We will consider candidates from other locations such as:
Fort Collins, Denver, Oakland, LA, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Austin.
- Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
- Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc.
- Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
- Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge.
- Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Flexible with working extended hours and locations, travel may be greater than 50 percent of time.
- Must be able to do day travel regionally.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences or Engineering or other related fields, AND two plus (2+) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
- Valid driver's license.
- Subject to pre-employment background check.
- Due to some of the sites, US Citizenship or permanent resident is required. Sponsorship will not be available for this role now or in the future.
- Master's Degree preferred
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors alike.
- Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
- Scientific research and report writing (including web based research).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
