A Day in the Life

As an OGI Field Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing hydrocarbon fugitive emission and/or leak detection of facilities in the Oil and Gas Industry in the field. You’ll also work with industry‑leading technologies to detect and measure methane gas emissions.

Compensation: $55‑65k/yr, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating and navigating to various facilities with maps and GPS.
  • Help calibrate and maintain equipment.
  • Operate detection and measurement technologies under the supervision of the Team Lead.
  • Collect and record emission data.
  • Prepare field reports as required.
Qualifications
  • Experience in Oil and Gas industry; preference given to candidates with natural gas processing/transmission facility experience.
  • Effective computer skills (Excel and Microsoft Office essential) and proficiency with Android OS.
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (days only).
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Preferably equipped with an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or applicable technical degree/diploma. Related work experience in hydrocarbon detection and measurement, LDAR, instrumentation or stack emission testing, or a mechanical background are also preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements
  • Walk and/or stand while handling/carrying technical equipment for extended periods.
  • Occasional work at heights in a safe manner.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Work outside in all‑weather elements.
  • Climb ladders and stairs.
  • Pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
  • Willingness to travel.
