The Midstream Facilities Engineer supports the design, optimization, and operation of natural gas gathering and processing systems. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams to improve system reliability, maximize throughput, and ensure safe, compliant operations across midstream assets.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience in gas compression, processing, and pipeline systems, with the ability to troubleshoot issues, support capital projects, and drive continuous improvement in field operations.
Key Responsibilities Operations Support & Optimization
• Provide engineering support for gas gathering systems, processing facilities, and pipeline operations
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput, efficiency, and reliability
• Troubleshoot operational issues related to compression, dehydration, treating, and pipeline flow
• Support field teams with technical guidance and problem resolution
Project Execution
• Support design, execution, and commissioning of midstream facilities and system upgrades
• Review and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, and engineering drawings
• Assist with facility debottlenecking and expansion projects
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations (49 CFR 192/195) and applicable safety standards
• Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and Management of Change (MOC) processes
• Participate in HAZOPs, risk assessments, and safety reviews
• Promote a strong safety culture across all operations
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and performance gaps
• Develop recommendations to improve system performance and reduce downtime
• Support reporting and documentation for operations and project teams Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Civil Engineering
• Proven experience in midstream oil & gas operations (gathering, processing, pipelines)
• Strong knowledge of compression, dehydration, gas treating, and pipeline systems
• Familiarity with DOT regulations
• Experience supporting facility design, optimization, or capital projects
• Ability to read and interpret PFDs and P&IDs
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and project coordination abilities
• Willingness to support field operations and work in operating environments
