Environmental Engineer or Scientist

Environmental business in Midland, TX is seeking an Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer or Geologist to join our team. The role will focus on contributing to the Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line through the coordination and implementation of a wide range of environmental solutions and projects, based in Midland, Texas.

• Engineering Solutions Design:
  Contribute to the design of engineering solutions, design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support development and validation of engineering solutions.
• Health, Safety, and Environment:
  Follow the organization's HSE policies and procedures to identify and mitigate environmental risks.
• Waste Management:
  Lead waste projects or supervise areas of the organization, ensuring adherence to regulations and effective reduction, segregation, and disposal of waste.
• Technical Troubleshooting:
  Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
• Technical Developments Recommendation:
  Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
• Engineering Drawings:
  Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
• Data Collection and Analysis:
  Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats, working independently.
• Project Management:
  Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
• Testing:
  Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
• Research:
  Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
• Personal Capability Building:
  Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant.
• Client & Customer Management (External):
  Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
• Preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications.
• Coordinate and implement project permitting.
• Interpretation/evaluation of environmental regulations.
• Data compilation, reduction, and interpretation.
• Understanding of remediation methods and operations and maintenance requirements.

• PE or PG in Texas or New Mexico highly regarded.
• 3-8 years of experience in environmental consulting including permitting & compliance, remediation & design, site assessments, report writing, data management & interpretation and project coordination.
• Experience coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently.
• Strong working knowledge of NM OC and NM SLO rules and regulations as they relate to assessment and remediation.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification a plus.
• Electrical systems and remediation system operation and maintenance proficiency.
• Ability and willingness to travel to undertake field work required.
• Bachelor's Degree and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field.
