Overview

Design Solutions and Integration is an employee‑owned company providing automation, electrical, and mechanical services to major energy partners. The role is in Midland, Texas, working in the Permian Basin oil fields.

Midland, Texas. 5 days a week, 10 hours a day, overtime varies. Daily travel required across Texas and New Mexico.

• Onsite startup/services/troubleshooting/documentation
• Onsite PLC/HMI Troubleshooting and Programming
• Onsite ROC Troubleshooting and Programming
• Onsite Total Flow Troubleshooting and Programming
• Onsite instrument Troubleshooting and Programming
• Onsite SCADA point‑to‑point and mapping configuration and verification
• Onsite Radio Troubleshooting and Programming

• Associate's degree or higher in Instrumentation/Automation/Controls.
• Four years’ experience in oil field automation with PLC, HMI, and instrumentation.
• Understanding of oil field automation concepts related to CTB, SWD, Well pad, LACT, Compressor, Pipeline, Storage.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a follicle drug test if required.

• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC):
  Rockwell Automation, Schneider, IDEC, Direct Logix, GE.
• PLC programming applications: RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, Connected Components Workbench.
• Additional PLC systems:
  Direct Soft, Click, Productivity, Proficy Machine Edition.
• Flow Computers and RTU devices, ROC FB and 800 series, ABB Totalflow, RMC.
• HMI programming applications:
  Factory Talk View ME/SE, Vijeo, Automation Organizer, Crimson, EZware
  
  Plus, EBPro, ROCLINK, iX developer.
• Ignition, Wonder Ware, Cygnet.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, One Drive, Teams).

• Ethernet and Serial wired hardware:
  Cat5, Cat6 termination, patch cables, Ethernet‑to‑serial/fiber converters.
• Ethernet managed/unmanaged switches, fiber connection types and modes.
• Serial protocols: RS232, RS422, RS485, HART loop.
• Software protocols: MODBUS, TCP/IP, Device Net, CAN.
• Wireless systems:
  Cambium, Freewave, Zeta, MDS;
  Emerson, Oleumtech, Vega.

• Level sensors/radar, float sticks, pressure sensors, flow meters (Coriolis, magnetic, ultrasonic, turbine). 4‑20 mA devices.
• Variable Frequency Drives programming and troubleshooting.
• Read blueprints and PID drawings.
• Multi‑meter voltage and current application.
