Job Title: Instrumentation/Measurement Engineer/ Maintenance Technician - Instrumentation/ Analyzers
Duration: 2-3 months contract
Location: Travel required to Oklahoma and Midland, TX – Must go to the field, oil sites, and set up BLCs
Work authorization: U.S. Citizens only
Key Responsibilities- Manages ATG systems, issues permits, troubleshoots, travels for inventory checks, coordinates with teams, calibrates devices, documents processes, and develops solutions for communication issues.
- The role of an Instrumentation/ Analyzer Maintenance Technician is to provide the functional, day-to-day maintenance support and surveillance of unit instrumentation and/or analyzer equipment.
- The Instrumentation/ Analyzer Maintenance Technician must master an effective working knowledge of safe work practices (both general operating unit safe work practices as well as specific safe work practices applicable to instrumentation and/or analyzers).
- Technicians in this field may support both instrumentation and analyzers, or be subdivided into more specialized Instrument Technicians or Analyzer Technicians depending upon the work location norms.
- Develop a thorough working knowledge of assigned instrumentation and/or analyzers, operating limits, and underlying equipment strategies.
- Obtain certifications as may be required to support specific equipment, or OEM warranty provisions, etc., as may be required.
- Develop a thorough working knowledge of and demonstrate strict adherence to safe work practices.
- Comply with operating unit safe work standards (Lock-Out/ Tag-Out), Management of Change, Procedure compliance, etc.
- Conduct assigned surveillance/ maintenance responsibilities, adhering to PM and general equipment strategy requirements.
- May involve developing and/or executing maintenance plans to isolate equipment for maintenance or return to service.
- Monitor equipment, look for unusual conditions or measurements, and support optimization and troubleshooting activities.

General Work Experiences. - Detailed Knowledge of ATG.
- Working Knowledge of SCADA Systems.
- Write permits for any applicable work required on site.
- Support and work cooperatively with field technicians to diagnose and resolve communication failures, equipment malfunctions and general technical issues on site or via remote access.
- Travel to business locations to verify the ATG list is accurate/complete.
- Work with local business Measurement Personnel for discrepancies in ATG list for corrections to be made – whether the correction is an addition, subtraction, interface possible, manufacturer, model, tag number, equipment , location, purpose classification (Fiscal/ Reservoir), etc.
- Verify ATG device configuration is correct.
- Rectify any misconfigurations through a Management of Change.
- Be the liaison between IT/SCADA, Measurement, and Production Accounting Personnel to troubleshoot ATG data feeds from device to Pro Count.
- Support the tests of ATGs to ensure data is feeding into Pro Count accurately for the month‑end inventory closeout.
- Work with team members to identify mechanisms to automatically notify field personnel and production accounting if an ATG is not communicating and will require manual intervention to ensure data is flowing for month‑end inventory closeout.
- Identify common‑mode errors for connectivity issues within the field and write standard work routine to allow other regions to quickly identify and rectify issues.
- Calibrate ATGs where required and document calibration within Muddy Boots.
- Interface with OS&S Measurement team for functional guidance.
- Document detailed plan on how to calibrate the ATGs for the selected business unit.
- Plan may include: ATG location, phase approach to calibrations, detailed work instructions on how to perform calibration; requirement/deliverables.
- Ensure Muddy Boots contains an accurate list of ATGs installed in the business unit with associated properties.
- Ensure all ATGs have a current calibration.
- Ensure all ATGs are configured correctly.
- Train field personnel on proper configuration / calibration of ATGs.
- Create documents disclosing how to conduct calibration / configuration.
- Ensure all ATGs are communicating correctly with SCADA and Pro Count for month‑end inventory closeout.
