EHS Coordinator

Position Overview

Coordinates activities required to promote safety and environmental compliance. Implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations as they apply to the organizations operations, including but not limited to OSHA and EPA.

• Assist in the achievement of meeting company goals and initiatives, profitability and productivity requirements.
• Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices.
• Implement employee‑training programs as indicated by regulatory guidelines, hazardous condition monitoring, customer demands, and use of safety equipment, including authorized level training.
• Perform safety surveys and inspections, prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective and preventative measures, and follow up to ensure implementation.
• Ensure compliance with timely reporting as required by customers, state, and federal health and safety regulations and statutes.
• Maintain environmental reports and reporting (e.g., Storm water permits, SPCC, etc.).
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Partner with peers and peer organizations to develop a safety culture and encourage open dialogue.
• Manage work‑related incidents with a focus on case management.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules.
• Complete other projects and tasks as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2 years of work experience in safety.
• Proficiency in HSE reporting systems such as ISNetworld and PEC.
• Excellent leadership skills with a demonstrated record of success.
• Direct experience managing HSE in multisite manufacturing or field operations.
• Self‑motivated individual with a bias toward action.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Associate Degree in Safety or Environmental or a closely related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of full‑time experience in Environmental, Health and Safety discipline (two years of work experience may be substituted for one year of education).
• One or more professional certifications preferred (OHST, CHST, CHMM, ASP, CSP, etc.).
• Experience developing and revising policies and procedures, and presenting high‑level presentations and training.
• Prefer candidates with multi‑work site (location) experience and chemical plant experience.

Employee must frequently stand; sit; walk; kneel; stoop; use hands to handle/feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb or balance. A valid driver’s license is required, and the position is in the Longmont, CO area. The candidate must live within this region and relocate within the first 90 days. Availability for up to 50%–90% travel time is required to Farmington, NM;
Gillette, WY; and Watford City, ND.

Salary is commensurate with education, recognized certifications and full‑time work experience within the safety discipline.
