OGI Field Technician

Job Overview

As an OGI Field Technician, you will perform hydrocarbon fugitive emission and leak detection at oil and gas facilities, using industry‑leading technologies to detect and quantify methane gas emissions. Compensation ranges from $55‑65k/year plus overtime, commensurate with experience and geographic location.

• Coordinate and navigate to various facilities using maps and GPS.
• Assist in calibrating and maintaining equipment.
• Operate detection and measurement technologies under the supervision of the Team Lead.
• Collect and record emission data.
• Prepare field reports as required.

• Experience in the oil and gas industry, preference for natural gas processing or transmission facilities.
• Effective computer skills (Excel and Microsoft Office); proficiency with Android OS.
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (days only).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or related technical field, or equivalent work experience in hydrocarbon detection, LDAR, instrumentation, stack emission testing, or mechanical engineering (preferred but not required).

• Walk and/or stand while handling or carrying equipment for extended periods.
• Occasionally work at heights safely.
• Lift up to 50lb unassisted.
• Work outdoors in all-weather conditions.
• Climb ladders and stairs.
• Pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
• Willingness to travel.
