Monday – Friday, after hours as needed based on business necessity
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers and continuously improve the company's corrosion control programs for natural gas, crude oil, NGL, and associated facility assets. Provides leadership, technical expertise, and strategic direction for internal corrosion, external corrosion, cathodic protection, maintenance pigging, and integrity-related activities while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and company requirements. Reports to the Pipeline Corrosion & Integrity Manager.
- Directly supervises and develops Corrosion Technicians and other assigned personnel.
- Establishes employee goals and performance expectations while providing necessary coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance.
- Coordinates daily work activities, schedules, and field priorities to ensure efficient utilization of personnel and resources.
- Promotes and enforces a strong safety culture and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assists in the workforce planning, recruiting, training, and succession development of corrosion personnel.
- Oversee all aspects of the company's cathodic protection program, including design, installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of cathodic protection systems.
- Review and evaluate annual survey data, CIS, AC/DC interference or any other applicable data.
- Direct investigation, prioritization, and remediation of cathodic protection deficiencies and external corrosion threats.
- Develop and execute monitoring and mitigation strategies to support long-term asset integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Review corrosion assessment data and make recommendations regarding repair, replacement, rehabilitation, and mitigation activities.
- Provide technical leadership for internal corrosion monitoring and mitigation programs affecting assets.
- Review corrosion coupon, ER probe, UT monitoring, fluid analysis, solid analysis, gas quality, bacterial activity, and chemical treatment data to identify degradation mechanisms and integrity threats.
- Develop and enhance corrosion control strategies including chemical treatment, inhibition programs, pigging programs, operational changes, and monitoring enhancements.
- Coordinate with chemical vendors, laboratories, service providers, operations, facility personnel and foreign operators to optimize treatment effectiveness and program performance.
- Support failure investigations and root cause analyses involving corrosion-related incidents or equipment failure and degradation.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including DOT PHMSA requirements and company standards.
- Maintains required documentation, records, and reports necessary to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
- Provide technical support during regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance assessments.
- Assist with development and maintenance of corrosion control procedures, standards, and operating practices.
- Collaborate with Operations, Construction, Engineering, Environmental, and Regulatory departments to assist in developing solutions that improve asset reliability and integrity.
