Facilities Engineer Specialist III
Compensation $136/hr Location Midland, TX (MCO) Schedule Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week. Overtime up to 50 hours per week is approved; anything over 50 hours requires additional approval. Truck Allowance Agency-provided truck or truck allowance Target Start Date ASAP Tentative End Date One year from start date
Scope The Facilities Engineer / Specialist III will provide brownfield facilities engineering, operational support, and surveillance for existing assets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead individual small projects through completion.
- Debottleneck facilities and production batteries to accommodate new production volumes.
- Resolve potential safety and risk hazards through engineering actions.
- Minimize existing-asset downtime and optimize production.
- Participate in area risk assessments, HAZOPs, hazard hunts, and Critical Operating Parameter reviews.
- Lead incident investigations involving downtime and process-safety events.
- Support opportunity management, including identifying opportunities and developing project scopes of work.
- Conduct risk assessments for new facility projects and existing facilities.
- Drive closure of risk-mitigation action items.
- Lead performance testing and plant-based trials.
- Develop operating guidelines for facilities.
- Coach and mentor junior colleagues.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or another related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, codes, and applicable safety criteria.
- Demonstrated brownfield facilities engineering and operations-support experience.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently, engage cross-functional teams, and drive work forward to meet deadlines and business objectives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, particularly for technical and business communications.
