Environmental and Regulatory Advisor​/Specialist

Airswift is looking for an Environmental and Regulatory Advisor/Specialist to work for a major O&G company in Midland, TX, for an initial 6-months assignment. This opportunity supports environmentally responsible planning, drilling, completions, construction, and operations in an onshore oil and gas environment. The role focuses on environmental permitting, regulatory coordination, NEPA-related activities, and Clear-to-Construct readiness, helping project teams identify constraints early and manage compliance requirements effectively.

This position offers the chance to influence field execution, schedule performance, and environmental risk management through strong technical judgement and structured stakeholder coordination.

• Strong working knowledge of Texas and New Mexico environmental requirements related to onshore oil and gas planning, drilling, completions, and construction.
• Ability to manage regulatory and permitting activities including APDs, Conditions of Approval, floodplain permits, pit registrations, conservation reviews, and operational compliance.
• Capability to identify biological, cultural, WOTUS, karst, threatened and endangered habitat, nest, surface-use, and seasonal constraints and translate them into practical mitigation actions.
• Experience supporting Clear-to-Construct reviews, field guidance, permit condition verification, and environmental requirements affecting construction and operations.
• Strong coordination skills across regulatory agencies, contractors, land, engineering, permitting, portfolio development, and field operations.
• High level of discipline in inspections, reporting, audit support, permit condition tracking, and defensible regulatory documentation.
• Ability to scope, coordinate, review, and challenge environmental survey work, technical reports, contractor deliverables, schedules, and quality.
• Strong communication, project management, organisation, and decision-making skills in a highly schedule-driven environment.
• Ability to provide clear environmental regulatory advice, manage stakeholders, and maintain close attention to detail.

• Experience with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), including environmental assessments, environmental surveying, and permitting processes supporting Applications for Permit to Drill and Rights-of-Way authorisations.
• Diploma in an Environmental or Science-related field.
• AI and digital skill sets.
• Experience in technology-heavy environments requiring strong organisation and tracking of permits, contractor activity, and environmental constraints.
