State TitleCustomer Service Representative V (0140). This position must be available to work in both Houston RSC locations:
Houston North – RSC 2110
E. Governors Circle, Houston, TX 77092 and Houston South – RSC 11720 West Airport Blvd., Meadows Place, TX 77477.
- Provide quality customer service to the public, county tax offices and industry stakeholders regarding title and registration application requests and inquiries.
- Process apportioned registration in person, by telephone and via the Texas International Registration Plan (TxIRP) online application.
- Assist and train peers, carriers and service providers with apportioned registration, compliance audits and use of the TxIRP online application.
- Communicate with and assist the public, government entities and industry stakeholders in person, by telephone (inbound/outbound), by e‑mail and through correspondence.
- Prepare and edit correspondence for the public and agency stakeholders, including government agencies, law enforcement, vehicle dealers and metal recyclers.
- Assist regional office leadership with coordinating, planning and monitoring work status and daily operations.
- Retrieve information from master files, mainframe systems and databases to verify applications, forms and supporting documents; enter data into databases and approve or reject issuance of requested documents.
- Make requests to suspend and revoke motor vehicle records.
- Research information from manuals, electronic resources, rules and law to resolve advanced customer‑service problems and collaborate with other agencies and divisions to provide information and services to customers.
- Maintain specialized expertise in TxDMV laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures to issue temporary registration, NAFTA permits, authorise refunds and corrected title requests, issue credit‑fee vouchers, bonded title letters.
- Lead, coordinate and participate in team meetings to develop best‑practice procedures.
- Support the county tax office through on‑site visits; communicate and interpret department policy and programs, review rules/regulations and conduct audit oversight.
- Conduct annual audit of accountable/non‑accountable items for the county tax office.
- Provide RTS application support and assist with special projects.
- Travel to attend meetings, seminars and conferences; develop and conduct training for government entities, industry stakeholders and TxDMV‑VTR personnel.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Lift and carry boxes of paper and/or license plates weighing up to 50 lb.
- Stand for short periods of time to make copies/faxes.
- Kneel for short periods of time to replace printing ink cartridges.
- Walk short distances to and from copier, fax and inventory retrieval.
- Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Experience: Four (4) years in a high‑volume customer‑service or general‑office administration environment.
Travel up to 25 % of the time, may include overnight travel and work extended hours, evenings and weekends as needed.
Registration, Certification, and/or LicensureA valid Class “C” driver’s license is required. New Texas residents must obtain a Texas driver’s license within 90 days of moving to Texas. A satisfactory driving record is required for operating state or personal vehicles in service of the department.
