Job Description

A hospital system based in Midland, Texas is looking for an Oracle Manager to lead a team of 6 focused on revenue cycle applications within Oracle Cerner. This role requires a self‑starting mindset leader with the technical background to develop with the team. While this role is hybrid, it is preferred that a candidate is local to Midland. The incumbent performs the essential duties and responsibilities and the primary functions of an Applications Manager, providing logistical support in system evaluation, implementation, programming, system analysis, end‑user application education, and presentation graphics.

They promote teamwork with co‑workers and personnel from other departments, solve routine and non‑routine problems, deal with a variety of issues, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form, and demonstrate the knowledge and judgment necessary for performing all duties of the Applications Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a technical staff of application specialists, including creating job descriptions, hiring, training, evaluation and job assignments.
  • Design and manage application implementations, upgrades and ongoing support, including overall project management and project schedules.
  • Allocate and schedule staff to support the various Hospital Information System software applications employed throughout the organization.
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends and advances in Healthcare Information Systems software applications, including Financial, Clinical, Decision Support and other application categories.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory and certification environments, including but not limited to DNV, ISO
    9001, HIPAA and HITECH.
  • Assure current maintenance of all licensure and contract renewals for all Hospital Information System software applications.
  • Provide logistical support of all departmental Hospital Information System software (this does not include standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office applications).
  • Assume primary responsibility in the evaluation, acquisition and implementation of new Healthcare Information System applications.
  • Coordinate all resources necessary for the periodic upgrades of production Hospital Information Systems applications.
  • Assure that adequate training resources are available for all Hospital Information System applications and that appropriate training of all hospital and medical staff is completed.
  • Assure quality control in all software implementations and upgrades.
  • Assure that responses to all non‑routine user requests are performed in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years’ experience managing health care information systems in an acute care hospital environment.
  • Ability to lead a team
    • 50/50 split with technical responsibilities and leadership responsibilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology background.
  • Understanding of revenue cycle IT business processes.
  • Experience managing Oracle Cerner Millennium applications
    • Will consider Epic / Meditech background with the right candidate.
