Cyber Security Engineer – Midland, TX (Onsite)

A growing organization in the energy sector is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join its enterprise cybersecurity team in Midland, Texas. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security infrastructure, as well as developing and enforcing security policies and procedures. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in threat analysis, incident response, and enterprise security technologies, and thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

• Onsite in Midland, TX (relocation available)
• 4‑day workweek with half‑day Fridays

• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Design and implement security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and related tools.
• Perform threat analysis and vulnerability assessments.
• Lead incident response activities, including containment and recovery.
• Monitor security systems and logs to detect and address incidents.
• Partner with IT teams to integrate security across infrastructure.
• Evaluate new security technologies and provide security awareness training.

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of cybersecurity engineering or related experience.
• Experience developing security policies and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of threat analysis, mitigation, and incident response.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO 27001.
• Hands‑on experience with one or more of the following:
• Firewalls
• WAF, EDR, DLP
• Cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• SIEM, IAM, or PAM
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

• Experience in OT/industrial control or SCADA environments.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or similar.
