Senior Network/Security Analyst – onsite at Malmstrom AFB, Great Falls, Montana.
This role is part of a 24/7 operational helpdesk environment. The incumbent will perform tier 1 & tier 2 trouble analysis and assist engineers with configuration, management, and maintenance of network and system services.
What You Will Do- Perform tier 1 and tier 2 trouble analysis in an enterprise IT environment.
- Assist engineers in configuring, managing, and maintaining applications, network routing, and switching in Linux and Microsoft environments.
- Use COTS software such as Solar Winds, Splunk, MECM, Cisco Call Manager, BMC Foot Prints, and JSpace (Juniper).
- Troubleshoot, repair, and configure network devices including firewalls.
- Execute system administrator duties such as user account management, certificate management, and group policy.
- Maintain and troubleshoot virtual environments using Esxi, VMware, and vSphere.
- Configure and troubleshoot Type‑1 encryption devices.
- Assist engineers with monthly patch management, LAN/site installations, tech refreshes, and software upgrades.
- IT experience in an enterprise IT environment.
- Ability to work a shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level
II certification (Security+ or CISSP preferred) required on day
1. - Minimum of a STEM degree and 5years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 3years of experience.
- Active, transferable U.S. government‑issued Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI after start.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows & Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy), Linux bash, and computer security implementation.
- Understanding of basic network engineering fundamentals—including OSI layers, IP addressing, sub‑netting, TCP/IP stack, VLANs, and DHCP.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and applications as required.
