Desktop Support Engineer
Location: 100% Onsite - Midland TX
Long Term Contract - W2 & C2C
Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to provide on-site technical assistance to end-users in TX Location. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing applications, managing IT assets, and supporting users in a Windows/Mac environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for end-users.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and MacOS operating systems.
- Assist with network troubleshooting, including LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity.
- Set up and configure new user accounts, email, and access permissions in Active Directory & Microsoft 365.
- Provide support for Microsoft Office 365 applications, Outlook, Teams, and other enterprise software.
- Assist with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and procurement.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware repairs and replacements.
- Ensure cybersecurity best practices by updating software, patching vulnerabilities, and monitoring for security threats.
- Provide technical training and guidance to end-users as needed.
- 2-5+ years of experience in desktop support, IT support, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, MacOS, and Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with Active Directory, user management, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems like Service Now, Jira, or similar ITSM tools.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting printers, mobile devices, and VoIP systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A+ Certification, Microsoft Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience in enterprise IT support or a corporate environment.
- Knowledge of remote desktop tools (e.g., Team Viewer, Any Desk, RDP).
- Basic experience with scripting (Power Shell, Bash) is a plus.
