Job Title: Fleet Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Midland, Tx.
Pay Range: $100 – 120k (plus 10% annual bonus)
Work Hours: 3PM to 3AM, Monday through Friday, some Saturdays
Type of Employment: Direct Hire

The Planet Group is currently seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for a growing company. Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma, 3-5 years of fleet maintenance experience. Apply now for immediate consideration.

Position Summary

Supervises a fleet maintenance shop under the direction of a Maintenance Manager. Oversees technicians performing preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks (diesel and alternative fuel), heavy equipment, and container shop machinery. Ensures all maintenance meets company safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Plans and schedules repair work to maximize safety, efficiency, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct A/B/C-level and lead technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and timely maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor shop performance; recommend process improvements and report results to management.
  • Conduct shop huddles, fleet walks, and provide coaching, counseling, and training to technicians.
  • Participate in hiring, corrective actions, performance evaluations, and promotion/merit decisions.
  • Perform quality control inspections and verify outside repair work meets safety and regulatory standards.
  • Identify training needs and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Assist with complex diagnostics; road test vehicles when necessary.
  • Oversee parts inventory, shop budget compliance, and approve expenses within authority limits.
  • Maintain knowledge of engines, emissions, hydraulics, brakes, electrical systems, HVAC, and welding to support high-level repairs.
  • Manage administrative tasks including payroll, maintenance records, Dossier software updates, budgeting, and departmental goals.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • ASE

    Certifications:

    T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, and ASE Master.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience.
  • 1+ year in a supervisory/lead technician role with strong knowledge of safe working practices and DOT/OSHA regulations.
