Salary range $120,000-$140,000

Job Summary Responsible and accountable for the strategic leadership, supervision, and daily operations of Plant Operations, Engineering, Facilities Management, HVAC, Utilities, and General Maintenance throughout the hospital. Oversees the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs while ensuring a safe, reliable, and regulatory-compliant environment that supports patient care.

Provides operational oversight of construction and renovation projects, contractor and vendor performance, capital equipment planning, emergency preparedness, utility management, and the Hospital's Facilities Computerized Maintenance System (CMS) for work order management, preventive maintenance scheduling, asset management, reporting, and workflow optimization. Supports organizational initiatives and serves as a leader in continuous performance improvement, customer service, and regulatory readiness.

Essential Functions JOB SPECIFIC

COMPETENCIES:

Demonstrates the technical/professional knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for the successful operations of the department including, where applicable, age specific competency.
* 1. Assist Plant Manager to analyze/evaluate maintenance/repair requisitions and prioritize. Supervise/monitor work in progress and prepares reports as required.
2. Analyzes departmental needs, evaluates new products, equipment and techniques for purchasing consideration.
3. Evaluate and review personnel performance and make recommendations, and/or take corrective action for policy violations.
4. Reviews, updates, maintains, and distributes department policies and procedures to insure compliance with all regulatory agencies
5. Oversees implementation of Hospital Hazardous Materials & Wastes Plan and reports to EOC committee.

5. Demonstrates compliance with licensure/certification requirements and the timeliness of their submission.

BUDGET:
1. Prepares and administers the annual budget.
2. Demonstrates ability to manage variances in the budget including Human Resource management and management of expenses.
3. Collaborates with employees to control costs and pursue additional revenue opportunities PROJECTS/ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Completes projects/assignments within projected time frames and expectations.

Qualifications Bachelor Degree Preferred Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Plant Operations, Facilities Management, Engineering, Utilities, or General Maintenance, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities, preferably within a healthcare environment.

Experience managing preventive maintenance programs, capital projects, vendor relationships, budgets, regulatory compliance, and computerized maintenance/work order systems preferred.

Training in healthcare facilities management, Environment of Care, Life Safety, emergency preparedness, project management, or related disciplines preferred.

Knowledge of Joint Commission, NFPA, OSHA, Department of Health, and applicable regulatory standards preferred.

Must demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Ability to effectively supervise multidisciplinary teams while maintaining positive relationships with employees, physicians, patients, contractors, vendors, and leadership.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, respond effectively during emergencies, and exercise sound judgment under changing operational conditions.

Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMS), Microsoft Office applications, reporting tools, and operational analytics.
