Smith Industries is seeking a safety-focused and dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for operating material handling equipment, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and supporting daily yard and warehouse operations.

• Follow all company Safety policies and procedures at all times
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with company and contractor requirements
• Exercise stop-work authority if tasks cannot be performed safely
• Immediately report all incidents, accidents, and equipment deficiencies to a supervisor and participate in required safety meetings and training courses
• Perform daily equipment inspections; adjust and lubricate equipment as needed
• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment including but not limited to:
  • CAT 980 Front-End Loader
  • Hyundai 125,000 lb Forklift
  • Toyota 30,000–36,000 lb Forklift
  • Man lift and scissor lift
• Load and unload materials from trucks
• Move products and materials as directed by supervisor
• Ensure all loads are secure and properly handled
• Stack and stage materials and inventory appropriately
• Maintain clean equipment and work areas
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Demonstrated experience operating:
  • CAT 980 front-end loader
  • Large-capacity forklifts (up to 125,000 lb)
  • Standard-capacity forklifts (30,000–36,000 lb)
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in a fast-paced industrial environment
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
